Strength characteristics of plywood cases are very similar to those of timber crates. An important difference is that plywood cases are less susceptible to racking, with timber crates better in compression.
We have produced plywood cases 1200 x 1000 x 750mm for the global export of disk brakes, each case weighing 1,000Kg. During shipments they were stacked two high, any higher and the sea containers would have been overloaded. During storage these cases were stacked 5 high with confidence as they had been through laboratory testing to measure their suitability.
Internal fitments can be fitted to plywood cases. We have created many different designs to block and brace product or offer shock protection where appropriate. When designing internal furniture we are not limited to plywood or timber, we can utilise corrugated, foam, polystyrene etc. the material choice is based on a combination of performance and cost.
